The Midlands and East SHA cluster comprises NHS East Midlands, NHS East of England
and NHS West Midlands.
The NHS Management Board confirmed in July 2011 that there would be four SHA Clusters established across England, eachwith a single board in place from 3 October 2011. Our SHA Cluster has a clear purpose in the following areas:
- Delivering for today
- Building for the future
- Supporting staff
We are responsible for ensuring that the £26billion spent on health and health care across the region delivers better services for patients and value for money.
The three SHAs that are part of the cluster remain statutory bodies in their own right, but they share a Board and management team. The teams work increasingly closely together to share good pratice and resources to improve health services for their population, in particular relating to the five Ambitions we have set ourselves. This site brings together cluster-wide information such as key facts and figures, Board papers and news releases.
