Strengthened partnerships

This ambition acknowledges the excellent work that has already taken place and seeks to develop our partner relations to a new and strengthened level.  The project has ensured that in developing our relationships with local government we are reinforcing the new structures of Health and Wellbeing Boards and HealthWatch as well as building our strategic dialogue with local government through established networks. This work is:

  • Building on the established relationships and existing structures – strengthening what has previously existed and supporting local solutions to develop further; identifying an engagement process with local government to jointly determine the key deliverables;
  • Developing expectations and support for local systems - in conjunction with the Local Government Association (LGA) the SHA is seeking to provide learning and development opportunities that are tailored to each community’s needs.
  • Developing a set of agreed performance indicators to ensure that every local system is building its partnership working approach and delivering joined outcomes for patients and the public.

The authorisation process for emerging Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG) requires evidence of good partnership working and this project will provide support to CCG development to embrace partnerships with local government.  This ambition will deliver key measurable outcomes for PCTs and CCGs including evidence of engagement to deliver integrated commissioning.
